This painting is inspired by a clear Autumn night in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where the aspen trees are turning a bright yellow and the milky-way is visible above. I am excited that this new painting will make its debut at the Downtown Aspen Art Festival later this month. See the poster below.
This painting is inspired by a vividly, bright pink wintry sunset set against the golden autumn aspens and violet and pink Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I took particular inspiration from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains that line the Eastern edge of the San Luis Valley where the sunsets in the winter produce incredible colors and alpenglow effects throughout the landscape.
This painting is inspired by a vividly, bright pink/orange sunset with hints of sky blue. The mountains are glowing in purple with accents of blue and pink. In the foreground the aspen trees are at peak Autumn foliage, a perfect golden yellow with hints of orange.
