This has been such an exciting project! Kyle and I have built a tiny painting studio (under 200sq ft) along our sculpture trail in our personal/private sculpture park in Mosca, Colorado. The Mystic Valley Sculpture Park has been a passion project of our for the last 7+ years. It made so much sense to add a space for my 2d art inspired by the incredible night sky that we get to enjoy in the San Luis Valley. The outside and the sign are still a work-in-progress. I will design a special sign for the Cool Sunshine Studio which you can see the interior of in the below photo. Its tiny, but isn’t it cut?!?! I hope that you enjoy some small glimpses into our family building project in the below photos. The landscape here in the San Luis Valley is so incredible so I’ve iincluded a few photos from our work days.
Ethan our oldest son, 7 years old here, was such a big part of this build. He was such a great contractor’s assistant. Its so neat to look back at this and know he was so essential.
Even grandpa visited and lended a helping hand!
Naturally I helped with the painting =) And of course I had a couple of eager assistants wanting to use the rollers!
So much of the work was not captured in photos as there were so many steps and so little time.
Many beautiful sunsets and Winter campfires were enjoyed while we cranked on this project here and there when we found time. Winter and early Spring seem to be a time when we are able to squeeze in some of this fun work out there.
The amount of work that went into this tiny structure is pretty incredible but what an accomplishment for our little group of workers!

There are so many little hang out spots around the studio to take in the views and the art.
Of course its hard to stay inside working with these inspiring views are right outside the sliding doors! But this place is a sculpture park so we mostly hangout outside here. A little indoor work was worth the end result =)
But outside we must go and make totems out of car toys and be pulled around in utility carts – an all time favorite activity here!
And back inside so much detail work like the drywall, painting, flooring, ceiling and electrical hook up to the solar.
Right below was the night before the 1st Annual Alamosa Open Studio Tour – trouble shooting the solar powar/lights … so cool to see it all come together.
