From July 19th till July 21st, I participated in my first 3 day art festival event. It was a huge learning experience for me. The best part was meeting so many amazing artists who have shared the knowledge they have gained over the many years of participating in these type of events.
The 2024 Spring edition of the Del Norte Makers Market at the Historic Windsor Hotel was my third of its kind and it was AWESOME as usual! I think its one of the most authentic markets around and folks from across Colorado should add it to their Colorado Road Trip Itinerary! I hope to participate for the 4th time this December for the Holiday Edition of the event.
Following the success of my first ever 2 weekend festival last year “The Durango Autumn Art Festival” I decided to participate in the Durango Farmers Market a few times this season. May 18th was my first market. It was a fun, family experience where I got to share my art with the local community. My sons really enjoyed the community atmosphere and browsing the delicious and beautiful booths while meeting farmers and artisans. They even got to pretend to be tree climbers right behind my booth – what fun!

For the last few seasons, I’ve enjoyed creating a small series of wood slice paintings. It began in the Spring of 2023 and followed each season with a new shape and size. This time around I was excited to step out of the round and try some more angular shapes seen below. Each one is a magical world of mountain layers and night skies – my favorite subjects to explore in paint.
